US GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
These are awards offered by the government to encourage students to study in the US. It includes the Fulbright Foreign Students Program and the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program.
NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Offered by various different trusts, foundations, and organizations to students pursuing a specific course stream to encourage participation and development in the said field.
INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Offered by universities in the US to students who are pursuing education with them.
SCHOLARSHIPS
STUDENT MINIMUM WAGE
7.25 USD/hour
Students can expect to earn a minimum of 7.25 USD/hour during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer.
PART TIME JOBS IN US
20 hours a week
Students holding an F-1 visa can work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session. They can wrk full-time during the periods when school is not in session or during the annual vacation.
WORK PERMIT AFTER STUDY IN US
2 years + 1 year for OPT
PGWP is usually issued for the length of the study program. The maximum length of the post work permit is two years and an additional year for Optional Practical Training.
